About the role

This is a unique opportunity for a Junior Analytical Technician to contribute to an innovative and multidisciplinary project, which focuses on developing a novel breath test for the early detection of gastrointestinal cancers (oesophageal, gastric, liver, pancreatic and colorectal).

What you would be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for driving key aspects of the research programmes, specifically:

  • Organise analytical runs on GC-FID and reporting of results
  • Ensuring that laboratory information management system (LIMS) is kept up to date in line with the quality management system
  • Run daily instruments quality control checks
  • Support the day-to-day running of the analytical laboratory with a focus on the breath analysis workflow.

What we are looking for

You are expected to hold A-levels/Degree in relevant scientific subjects or equivalent vocational qualifications, plus work experience, preferably in a relevant technical/scientific role or the equivalent work experience in a relevant technical or scientific role.

Further information

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months with potential for extension based at the Hammersmith Hospital Campus.
