The Position:

We are looking for friendly and motivated individuals to join our Domestic Services team at The Balfour.

Our Domestic Services team plays an important role in ensuring patients, visitors and staff have access to a clean, safe and welcoming environment. As a Domestic Assistant, you will work as part of a supportive team providing cleaning and domestic services across our modern healthcare facility.

This is a rewarding role where your contribution makes a real difference to the experience of patients and colleagues every day.

The salary for these roles is £26,696 - £28,988 pro rata per annum, plus Distant Islands Allowance pro rata. This equates to approximately £14.22 - £15.44 per hour. Enhanced rates are payable for unsocial hours, increasing to approximately £20.48 - £22.23 per hour on Saturdays and £26.73 - £29.03 per hour on Sundays and Public Holidays.

The Candidate:

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, have a positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team.

Previous cleaning experience would be beneficial but is not essential as we will provide full training. We welcome applications from people from a variety of backgrounds, for example hospitality, retail, customer service, or any role where high standards, reliability and teamwork are important.

You will need to be able to work independently when required, communicate effectively with colleagues, and maintain confidentiality in a healthcare environment.

Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:

We currently have a range of Domestic Assistant vacancies available:

Two permanent positions at 20 hours per week:

  • Working pattern: 6pm – 10pm Monday – Friday (no weekend shifts).One permanent position at 30 hours per week
  • Working pattern: A mix of 7.30am – 3.30pm or 11am – 7pm including shifts every second weekend. One Fixed-Term for 1 year position at 36 hours per week:
  • Working pattern: A mix of 7.30am – 3.30pm or 11am – 7pm including shifts every second weekend. One Fixed-Term for 1 year position at 30 hours per week:
  • Working pattern: A mix of 7.30am – 3.30pm, 11am – 7pm and 3.30 – 7pm including shifts every second weekend. We will also accept applications from people who are interested in a Relief contract only, which would be working on an as and when required basis only.
