About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Stores Assistant to join our Warehouse team.

Purpose and Scope of the role

The Stores Assistant will perform an array of functions that may include kitting jobs for production, issuing raw materials, receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and organising and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving and processing incoming stock and materials.
  • Check deliveries in accordance with our quality procedures, primarily for damaged or missing items.
  • Picking, packing and dispatch of products.
  • Perform final pre-delivery checks prior to dispatch.
  • Kitting Production jobs in preparation for manufacture and assembly.
  • Issue raw materials to jobs using Syspro/Hanel software.
  • Review stock regularly to ensure that the ‘FIFO’ system is effective.
  • Store materials appropriately.
  • Ensure all electronic and hard copy paperwork is kept up to date.
  • Assist with stock take and monthly cycle counts.
  • Work to achieve timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Work in accordance with the Quality Management System always.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Keep the stores area tidy and always organised.
  • Liaise with couriers.
  • Be able to support both Goods in and Goods out
  • When required, assist with any task as instructed by the Stores Supervisor.

Person Specification

Skills and Abilities

  • GCSE/ ‘O’ Level (or equivalent) Mathematics.
  • GCSE/ ‘O’ Level (or equivalent) English.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Use of Microsoft Office
  • Communication – both oral and written
  • Time management

Experience

  • Warehousing
