We're looking for an experienced Lead Product Manager (Salesforce) to own and evolve one of our most critical enterprise platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the product vision, strategy and delivery of Salesforce across Ofgem, enabling services that support our people, processes and regulatory outcomes.

The role

As Lead Product Manager, you'll take ownership of Ofgem's Salesforce product and platform strategy, overseeing the roadmap across CRM capabilities and integrated services. You'll be responsible for ensuring Salesforce continues to deliver measurable value while supporting organisational priorities and long-term transformation goals.

Working across business and technology functions, you'll lead the planning, governance and continuous improvement of the platform, balancing user needs, operational resilience and strategic outcomes.

You'll be a senior leader within our Digital, Data and Security Services (DDSS) directorate, providing direction across multiple teams and helping to build product management capability across the organisation.

Job description

Product and Platform Leadership

  • Define and deliver the Salesforce product vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead platform lifecycle management, capability planning and dependency mapping.
  • Ensure Salesforce services align with organisational priorities and user needs.
  • Drive value-focused decision-making across the product portfolio.

Stakeholder Engagement and Influence

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across business and technology teams.
  • Influence prioritisation and investment decisions.
  • Translate complex technical and business requirements into clear product outcomes.
  • Represent product management at senior governance forums.

Delivery, Quality and Assurance

  • Oversee delivery across DevOps, testing, release management and CI/CD practices.
  • Ensure security, compliance and technical quality are embedded throughout delivery.
  • Manage risks, dependencies and cross-programme impacts.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to enhance Salesforce capabilities and ways of working.
  • Champion user-centred design and data-driven decision making.
  • Improve product performance, user experience and operational resilience.

Leadership and Capability Building

  • Line manage and develop product professionals.
  • Mentor Product Owners, Business Analysts and platform specialists.
  • Support the development of a Salesforce Centre of Excellence.
  • Contribute to the wider Government Digital and Data profession.

Person specification

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations, including multi-cloud and complex integrations. (Lead Criteria)
  • Proven ownership of enterprise-level product and platform roadmaps. (Lead Criteria)
  • Proven ability to manage cross-programme dependencies and delivery governance.
  • Strong leadership and line management experience.
  • Knowledge of Agile at scale, DevOps, and CI/CD for Salesforce.
  • Financial and commercial acumen, including supplier management.

Holds or can obtain the following certifications or equivalent within 6 months:

  • Certified Product Manager (CPM) or equivalent
  • Salesforce certifications - Administrator and Platform App Builder.

Desirable Criteria

  • Prior experience of public sector or cross-government product management, with knowledge of assurance frameworks and governance.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security frameworks.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and integration patterns.
