  • What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Designing and developing microservices using Java, Spring Boot and Spring frameworks
  • Building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating with distributed systems
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines and containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Writing clean, maintainable code and collaborating on code reviews
  • Troubleshooting and optimising performance across cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
  • Contributing to architectural decisions and technical design discussions
  • Working with SQL databases and managing data pipelines
  • Supporting deployment and infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform
  • What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • Must-have
  • Proficiency in Java with proven experience developing production applications
  • Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring frameworks and microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and modern DevOps tooling
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Nice-to-have
  • Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE Programmer or Oracle Certified Associate: Java SE certification
  • Spring Professional (VMware) certification
  • Experience with API design, RESTful principles and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging and observability tools
  • Knowledge of additional languages such as Python or Bash
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices
