We are looking to expand our Bank Nursing Team and are seeking an experienced, motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice on a flexible, as-needed basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys variety and working within a well-organised primary care setting.
Located in Kendal offering excellent access to the Lake District National Park ideal for those seeking outdoor lifestyle balance alongside clinical work. Main duties of the job Flexible bank sessions to support service demand, including holiday and sickness cover and seasonal vaccinations.

Applicants must be experienced and competent in: Childhood Immunisations Travel health and immunisations Routine injections (e.g. B12, depot) Cervical smears Wound care and dressings Seasonal flu/ Covid vaccinations Phlebotomy Rate £23.53 per hour inclusive of holiday allowance, depending on experience and responsibilities.

B12, depot) Cervical smears Wound care and dressings Seasonal vaccinations Phlebotomy They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

Experience Essential Experience of working as a practice nurse
Qualifications
Essential Registered Nurse Desirable Post graduate diploma or degree (Primary Care) Clinical knowledge and skills Essential * Wound care/removal of sutures and staples * cervical cytology * Venepuncture * Chaperone procedure * Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly * Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel) * Understanding the importance of evidence based practice * Broad knowledge of clinical governance * Ability to record accurate clinical notes * Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GPs * Understanding of infection prevention and control measures * Knowledge of public health issues in the local area * Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy Desirable * Travel medicine * Awareness of issues within the wider health arena * Knowledge of health promotion strategies Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
