Cafe Kowloon is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.
Cafe Kowloon is a modern Hong Kong-inspired restaurant with a menu centred around Cantonese flavours and techniques, live-fire cooking, wok, grill and high-quality produce.
We’re looking for a confident and organised chef who can take responsibility for their section, work well as part of a team and maintain high standards throughout prep and service.
The Role
As Chef de Partie, you will:
- Take responsibility for the preparation and running of your section
- Ensure all mise en place is completed and organised ahead of service
- Cook and plate dishes consistently to the required standard
- Work across different sections of the kitchen when required
- Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Monitor stock, rotation, prep levels and wastage
- Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team
- Support junior members of the brigade during prep and service
- Assist with deliveries, storage and stock management
- Follow recipes, specifications and kitchen procedures consistently
- Contribute to a professional, organised and positive working environment
- What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Demi Chef de Partie
- Experience working in a quality, high-volume restaurant kitchen
- Strong basic cooking skills and good attention to detail
- Ability to organise and confidently run a section during busy services
- Good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and safe working practices
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Keen to learn and develop
Experience with Cantonese, Chinese or East Asian cooking is beneficial but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
