NHS Grampian Radiology Department is delighted to advertise 3.7 prestigious Consultant Radiologist posts including UCAN funded 0.5 Uro-radiologist post, to strengthen our progressive and ambitious team. We are seeking dynamic individuals with the full range of skills expected of a General Radiologist, particularly in cross-sectional imaging. In addition, we welcome applicants with a subspecialty interest that complements our department, especially in:

• Breast Radiology
• Dr Gray’s Hospital Service (Elgin)
• Gynae Radiology
• Upper GI
• Nuclear MedicineYou will contribute to the weekend, evening, and on-call rota. Posts can be full-time or part-time, with a flexible approach to job planning and opportunities for additional EPAs.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.

CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded. Those with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.

Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR or Portfolio Pathway Specialist Registration can be made to the GMC.

Dr Gray’s Hospital opened originally in 1819, underwent extensive new building and renovation in 1995-1998 to produce a modern, small district general hospital.

Dr Gray’s is a 120-bed district general hospital which provides a full range of consultant led healthcare specialties. As well as offering excellent training experience for junior doctors, the radiology department provides 3-month placements for radiology registrars. In addition, the opening of nearby Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Digital Health brings together the expertise in Digital Healthcare and Life Sciences within the region and across Scotland. The centre also offers clinical skills training and conference facilities for NHS Grampian staff and University of Aberdeen students.

Moray has many pleasant characteristics. Situated in the North East of Scotland, Moray has a varied landscape ranging from the shores of the Moray Firth to the foothills of the Cairngorms. As well as breath-taking scenery Elgin has a strong cultural scene with wide and varied leisure options. Elgin is very family orientated and offers a comparatively peaceful and calm quality of life. That said, Elgin is only 65 miles from Aberdeen and 37 miles from Inverness, both of which provide excellent links to UK and European destinations by road, rail, air and sea.

The main local industries are farming, fishing, light industrial manufacturing and, of course, distilling. There are 2 large military bases within 10 miles of the hospital with approximately 5,000 servicemen and their families. There are excellent local schools and nurseries. The quality of life is high with relatively low property prices, excellent recreational opportunities and the mild sunny climate of the inner Moray Firth.
