About the role

REGISTERED MANAGER- CHILDREN'S HOME

We are seeking a Registered Manager for our new children's home, Orchard House. At North Tyneside Council, we are committed to ensuring children are provided with high quality care from people who understand trauma and will ensure they have a nurturing, safe home which is able to meet their needs. 

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a new home, intially caring for 2 young children. As a registered manager you will lead a small staff tem in meeting the day to day needs of the children in the home, leading by example and ensuring the standards of care exceed those set out in Children's Home regulations.

Your core responsibilities will include recruitment and management of staff, embedding the new home in wider systems, ensuring high quality trauma informed care is being delivered, ensuring there is strong record keeping and paperwork, ensuring the home is compliant with health and safety standards and providing strong management oversight of activity in the home. 

The successful candidate

You will be an energetic and friendly person who can build dtrong relationships with children, staff and wider professionals. You will be committed to providing high standards of care to children and will have a firm understanding of Children's Home Regulations.

You will have extensive experience of working in a children's home alongside management experience. You will understand the challenges faced by children in care and will strongly advocate for them. You will have high standards and expectations and will be competent at engaging staff to develop.
