Managing Employee Reaction to AI-Driven Job Redundancies

Riley Bennett · 5d ago

I am witnessing a growing concern among my colleagues as our company starts to implement AI-powered automation, which is set to replace some roles by the end of the year, we have already seen a few redundancies in the marketing department. This has led to a lot of anxiety and speculation about who will be next, and we do not know how to address these concerns without causing panic. As someone who is involved in the decision-making process, I am struggling to find a balance between being transparent about the changes and avoiding unnecessary panic, so I was wondering how others are handling this situation. We need to find a way to support our employees through this transition, but we are not sure where to start.

I've found that creating a simple FAQ document on our intranet, updated weekly, helps keep rumours down and gives people a sense of what's actually happening.

We tried doing a Q&A session with the affected teams but it actually made things worse, people just got more worked up.
