Managing the Impact of Summer Strikes on Business Operations

Enrique Boyd · 6d ago

The aftermath is still with us from the recent rail and transport strikes in the UK, and I am finding it tough to keep our supply chain intact. As an employer, I do not want to compromise on employee safety, but at the same time, we cannot afford to halt production due to transport disruptions. With more strikes planned for July, I am worried about the overall impact on our business, so what strategies can we use to minimize the effects of these strikes on our operations and customer satisfaction. We need to find a way to keep our business running smoothly, so what are some practical steps we can take?

I think having a backup plan for logistics is key, perhaps looking into alternative transport methods like road freight. What's your current strategy for communicating with customers about potential delays, are you using a specific tool like SAP to keep them informed?
