Mitigating Cloud Cost Complexity

We have recently seen a surge in cloud adoption across our organization, which has led to a significant increase in costs. I am finding it tough to get a clear picture of our cloud expenditure, as it's spread across various departments and teams, making it hard to optimize our spending. As someone who oversees budgeting, I do not want to restrict our teams' ability to innovate, but we need to get our cloud costs under control. How do other companies effectively manage and allocate their cloud costs without stifling innovation?

We've had some success with using Cloudability to get a handle on our cloud spending, it's helped us identify areas where we can rightsize our resources and avoid waste. I've found that setting up custom alerts and reports in Cloudability has been a big help in staying on top of our costs.

I've found that having a centralized dashboard, like the one we use from ParkMyCloud, can really help simplify cloud cost tracking, but what's worked for us is also setting up regular reviews with each department to make sure they're aware of their own usage and can plan ahead.
