Managing Employee Anxiety Over Job Redundancies

Anxiety has spread through my team since the recent news of large-scale redundancies at major UK companies, such as the BBC and HSBC, we have had a few rounds of restructuring ourselves. As someone who's been in the industry for a while, I do not want to see our company's morale take a hit, we need to keep our best people engaged. How do other employers handle the fallout from redundancies, and what support systems can we put in place to reassure our staff that their jobs are secure, or at least give them a sense of stability?
