Accenture AI onboarding raises data‑privacy concerns

Leila Barnes · 7 Sep 2026

My first week at Accenture's London office has been dominated by a new AI onboarding assistant that pulls data from my CV, LinkedIn and internal surveys. The tool auto‑enrols new starters into health‑wellbeing programmes and asks for consent to share medical details, even though the UK data‑protection guidance released last month says explicit opt‑in is required. I've tried disabling the prompts, but the system blocks progress and HR says it's mandatory for compliance. Has anyone figured out a workaround that keeps the onboarding flow intact without breaching GDPR, or should we push for a policy change?

I raised the same issue with our DPO and they told me to submit a formal opt out request before the system forces the enrolment. Have you been able to get a data privacy impact assessment from the vendor yet?
