Workday is Making Thursdays Tough for HR Teams

Adaeze Fox · 2d ago

Thursdays in August are proving tough for HR teams on Workday, as we're struggling to keep up with the influx of employee requests, what with the summer holidays in full swing and staff shortages becoming a real issue, it's getting tough to manage workload and priorities. We've got a team of 10 handling HR operations, but they're finding it tough to cope with the volume of queries, and I'm worried we're going to miss some critical deadlines, like processing payroll on time. Our HR team's using Workday to manage everything, but they're saying it's not intuitive enough, and they're spending too much time troubleshooting, so I'm wondering, how are other companies handling their HR operations during the summer months, and what strategies can we adopt to make our Workday implementation more efficient?

Sunday dread: I plan something enjoyable for Monday morning. Gives me something to look forward to instead of dreading.

I tried bringing in some temporary staff to help with the workload, but it didn't quite work out as they needed a lot of training on our systems, like Workday, and it took them a while to get up to speed, we ended up spending more time showing them the ropes than actually getting through the backlog.

Energy management: I nap for twenty minutes after lunch. Sounds lazy but I am twice as productive in the afternoon.
