Microsoft 365 Adoption Challenges

Abdul Ng · 2d ago

Following Microsoft's recent price hikes, our company's IT department is struggling to manage the increased costs of Microsoft 365, and we're facing resistance from employees who don't want to adopt the new platform. As an employer, I'm concerned that we can't afford to absorb these costs, and as an employee, I'm frustrated that we're being forced to learn a new system without adequate training or support. We've tried to mitigate the impact by negotiating a discount with Microsoft, but it's not enough, and we're still looking for ways to reduce our spending. How can we balance the need to control costs with the need to provide employees with the tools they need to do their jobs effectively?

I've seen similar pushback from employees at other companies I've worked with, like when British Telecoms switched to Google Workspace and had to retrain over 5,000 staff.

I've found that creating a simple video series explaining the benefits of Microsoft 365 can really help with adoption. We used Loom to record some quick tutorials and shared them on our company's intranet, which seemed to ease the transition for a lot of our staff.
