Birmingham Children's Hospital is a designated Paediatric Major Trauma Centre for the West Midlands, forming part of the Midlands Trauma Network. Children and young people who sustain major trauma injuries require specialist care that can be provided within the Major Trauma Centre.

Patients require a managed transition from admission to rehabilitation and the community. The post holder will support patients through the Major Trauma Pathway. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Major Trauma team which is led by Clinical Lead for Major Trauma.

You will be responsible to the major trauma Clinical Lead, The Spinal Cord Injury Lead and The Head of Therapies and rehabilitation coordinator and work as a member of the Neurorehabilitation team.

You will be working across all areas of Birmingham Children's Hospital supporting patients and families with a wide variety of traumatic injuries. The post holder should have experience in paediatrics in a range of acute specialities with a sound knowledge of rehabilitation.

The successful candidate may also be required to work flexibly at times to meet the needs of an evolving and exciting service. Main duties of the job The post holder will coordinate the Major Trauma Pathway and be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of major trauma centre standards of care.

Working alongside other clinical professionals, the role will encompass sharing good practice, stream-lining the patient journey and implementing service improvements.

There is an expectation that the post holder will maintain profession specific clinical expertise by having a holistic clinical role that complements the multi disciplinary team in providing complex rehabilitation programmes.
