The Role

The post holder carries continuing responsibility for planning, developing, maintaining and evaluating standards of education and practice within the department. Supports the learning needs of Nursing, Assistant Practitioner and Health Care Support Workers within the department.

Using specialised skills and knowledge is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care. The post holder is required to undertake clinical duties and practice clinical skills, which have been developed through knowledge and experience.

In this key role, you will:

The Clinical Educator – Perioperative Services is responsible for leading and coordinating education, training and workforce development across perioperative services, including theatres, recovery, day surgery, endoscopy and associated clinical areas.

The post holder will ensure staff possess the knowledge, skills and competencies required to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care. They will support workforce development through education programmes, competency assessment, clinical supervision, quality improvement initiatives and implementation of evidence-based practice.

The Clinical Educator will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, Higher Education Institutions, Practice Education teams and organisational learning departments to develop a highly skilled perioperative workforce capable of meeting current and future service needs.

What You'll Bring:

• Registered Nurse with valid Professional Registration.
• Educated to/ working towards/ operating at Degree Level.
• Postgraduate expertise within speciality/ area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice. What we Offer
