Head of Diversity and Inclusion
Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Peabody in London Borough of Southwark, UK
About the role
This is an opportunity to shape how inclusion works across one of the UK’s oldest and largest housing associations – for our colleagues and for residents.
Peabody provides homes and services to a diverse range of people and communities. We want that diversity to be understood and reflected in the decisions we make, the services we provide and the experience of working here.
As our Head of Diversity and Inclusion, you’ll help us make that happen.
The role
You’ll lead the delivery of Peabody’s Inclusion Strategy, working closely with senior leaders and teams across the organisation to turn our commitments into action.
Your influence will reach well beyond our workplace. You’ll look at the experience of our colleagues and residents, using evidence and insight to understand where we are doing well, where outcomes differ and where we need to improve.
You’ll advise and challenge senior leaders, strengthen accountability and help teams build inclusion into the way they make decisions and deliver services.
You’ll also lead our specialist Diversity and Inclusion team and work closely with colleague networks, residents and external partners.
This is a senior role with the opportunity to shape thinking across Peabody and help us make demonstrable progress.
About you
You’ll have substantial experience of leading diversity, inclusion or equality work in a large or complex organisation, and a track record of turning strategy into practical change.
You’ll be comfortable working with senior leaders, providing constructive challenge and building support for action. You’ll understand how data and evidence can reveal different experiences and outcomes, and how to use that insight to decide where attention is needed.
You’ll also bring a strong understanding of equality legislation, governance and current practice.
Above all, you’ll be interested in how organisations work: how decisions are made, how services affect different people and what it takes to make lasting improvements.
