the Role

The post holder will: Provide comprehensive primary care services to registered patients. Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.

Prescribe and review medications in accordance with national and local guidance. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and audit activities. Contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes. Participate in practice meetings and service development initiatives.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced GPs, nurses, clinical pharmacists, and administrative staff to provide safe, effective, and compassionate primary care services.

Prescribe medications and review treatment plans in accordance with national and local guidelines. Deliver evidence-based clinical care and promote patient wellbeing. Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.

Participate in preventive healthcare programmes and chronic disease management. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including pharmacists, nurses, social prescribers, and community services. Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities and risk management processes.

Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, quality improvement projects, and service development initiatives. Attend practice meetings and educational sessions. Undertake home visits when clinically appropriate, although these are kept to a minimum.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Fully registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council (GMC) and licence to practise. Inclusion on the GMC GP Register. MRCGP qualification or equivalent.

Eligible to work in the UK. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement.

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience working in UK General Practice. Experience using EMIS Web. Interest in chronic disease management, teaching, mentoring, research, or quality improvement.
