Job summary

Are you passionate and dedicated about supporting children's neurodevelopment and making a real difference in young lives? We are recruiting a Fixed Term Children and Young People's Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team within the NHS.

This new exciting role working within our established autism service and our new developing neurodevelopmental pathway and service. This offers the opportunity to work with children, young people and families to assess, support, and guide development in a range of neurodevelopmental conditions including autism spectrum disorders and ADHD.

We are looking for anyone with relevant professional registration in either: Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology You will have experience working with children with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Possess strong communication skills with children, families, and professionals You will work independently within an established multi-disciplinary team working alongside a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Nurses and AHP professionals. You will have access to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Supporting our staff is very important to us and we offer staff supervision both clinically and managerially on a regular basis, promoting staff wellbeing Flexible working arrangements can be considered Main duties of the job Conduct neurodevelopmental assessments and observations in clinical settings or community environments Collaborate with paediatricians, psychologists, therapists, and educators to create holistic care plans Support families by providing information, advice, and interventions tailored to individual needs Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions Contribute to multidisciplinary autism assessments Maintain accurate records and contribute to service audits and quality improvement initiatives Stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to training and professional development

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential Relevant professional registration in one of the following: Nursing, Social Work, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Other Allied Health Professional Extensive post-registration experience Desirable Training and experience in completing: ADOS, ADI-R Post Graduate training in Mental Health and/or Child Development and/or Neurodevelopment EXPERIENCE Essential Experience working with children and young people with significant social, communication difficulties Experience of collaborative working as part of a multidisciplinary team Significant experience as a practitioner in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services and / or Neurodevelopment Service Desirable Experience of contributing towards Autism assessments in children and young people Experience of working in community settings and of autonomous decision making Experience and ability to carry out clinical audit SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Essential Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with families and young people in a supportive and empathic way Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team Proven track record of high-quality report writing and record keeping Knowledge of relevant NICE Guidelines Demonstrate understanding of Equality and Anti-discriminatory practice Excellent organisational and time keeping skills and ability to meet deadlines linked to KPI's Accurate and timely recording and maintenance of information systems Desirable Experience of writing neurodevelopmental assessment reports Experience of reviewing clinical documents to inform assessments PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Essential Team player, integrity, negotiation skills, good time management/organisation skills Exemplary personal standards of conduct and behaviour Possesses values and beliefs that enables others to deliver services effectively Passion for working with children with social and communication interaction difficulties Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
