MSK Outpatient Physiotherapist - Band 6

Job summary

We are looking for a band 6 physiotherapist to join our musculoskeletal outpatients team at our Lincoln and Louth sites. You will get the opportunity to assess and treat a wide variety of MSK conditions including consultant and GP referrals.

Within this role you will autonomously manage a complex clinical case load and be responsible for supporting the learning and development of junior staff, assistants and students within the team.

Our team is highly focussed on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer review and protected CPD time. Main duties of the job To provide a high standard of Physiotherapy in the Musculoskeletal Outpatient service. To deliver classes and 1:1 care as clinically indicated.

To perform more advanced and detailed assessments with patients presenting with more diverse and complex conditions, providing a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised specialist treatment programme. To hold own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.

Be responsible for supervision of junior staff contributing to in service training and induction programmes. You will contribute to daily triage, ensuring patients get the care they need and be able to identify needs for onward referral and requirement for external services.

Our team's are always striving to improve services for our patients, in this role you will be encouraged to participate and lead on service development and quality improvement projects or audit.

Person Specification

Qualification Essential Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above including English Language and Maths Evidence of maintained CPD in a portfolio including attendance at relevant post graduate courses Desirable Membership of the CSP Involvement in a special interest group.

Experience Essential Broad experience as a Band 5 physiotherapist in a variety of NHS clinical areas ( including neurology and Musculoskeletal Outpatients Experience of working as part of a team/ MDT Good theoretical knowledge within a broad range of conditions especially those of musculoskeletal origin Student or assistant supervision contributing to education Desirable Knowledge of the workings of the community services and intermediate care services.

Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues Skills Essential Knowledge of CSP guidelines, Trust policies & procedures understanding the legal responsibilities of
