Stephenson Park Health Group is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive primary care team.

The Role

The Senior Practice Nurse will take a lead role within our practice nursing team, providing clinical care to patients alongside supporting and supervising the wider healthcare team.

The postholder will currently provide support and supervision to: 1 Treatment Room Nurse 2 Healthcare Assistants You will be supported by, and report to, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner Partner, with good access to clinical and management support.

Clinical responsibilities will include: Chronic disease management, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma and COPD Vaccinations and immunisations Childhood immunisations Travel health Weight management Cervical screening Contraception and women's health Health promotion and disease prevention NHS health checks Supporting medicines optimisation and appropriate clinical monitoring Independent prescribing where qualified, or a willingness to work towards a recognised prescribing qualification Providing clinical advice and support to the nursing and healthcare assistant team Helping to maintain high standards of clinical governance, infection prevention and patient safety

We are looking for an experienced registered nurse with a strong background in general practice or primary care nursing. Ideally, you will have experience in a number of the clinical areas above and be confident in supporting and developing other members of the nursing team.

We particularly value someone who is: Patient focused and committed to high-quality care Experienced in chronic disease management An independent prescriber, or willing to work towards becoming an independent prescriber Supportive and approachable as a senior member of

the team

Organised and able to work independently Interested in developing services and improving patient care Comfortable working as part of a wider multidisciplinary primary care team The salary within the advertised range will reflect the successful candidate's experience, qualifications and clinical competencies.
