Projects and Administration Assistant Apprentice at CHESTER DIOCESAN ACADEMIES TRUST in Runcorn, Cheshire

About the role

Are you organised, confident with technology and looking for an opportunity to start your career in a professional environment?

Chester Diocesan Academies Trust is looking for a bright, enthusiastic and reliable Projects & Administration Assistant Apprentice to join our central team in Runcorn.

This isn't just a traditional office administration role. You'll work closely with our Chief Executive and senior team, helping to organise their work, coordinate projects and keep important information up to date. You'll gain valuable experience of how a large, growing organisation operates and develop skills for a wide range of future careers.

This role would particularly suit someone who’s completed A Levels, a BTEC or another Level 3 qualification and who is looking to begin their career in a professional business environment.

You don't need previous office or education experience. We're looking for someone who communicates clearly, enjoys using technology, is well organised, pays attention to detail and, above all, is keen to learn.

What will you be doing?

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll gradually develop the skills and confidence to:

help organise diaries, meetings, school visits and other activities;

prepare documents, presentations and meeting information;

help coordinate Trust projects, keeping track of actions and important deadlines;

gather, input and organise information and data using Trust systems;

check that records and information are accurate and up to date;

produce simple reports, summaries and project updates;

undertake research and gather information to support projects and decision-making;

help organise Trust meetings, conferences and events.

You'll receive training, coaching and support throughout your apprenticeship and will take on greater responsibility as your skills and confidence develop.

The apprenticeship typically lasts around 15 months, leading to a Level 3 Business Administrator qualification. We hope that successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to a permanent role within CDAT.

If you're looking for an alternative to university, have recently completed your studies, or simply want to start building a professional career while gaining a recognised qualification, we'd love to hear from you.

Closing Date: 7th September 2026

Job Start Date: 21st September 2026

Hours: 32.5 hours/week – typically 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Weekly hours include dedicated time for apprenticeship study and development.

Location: Based at CDAT Offices, The Heath Business & Tech Park, Runcorn, WA7 4QX
