A rewarding opportunity to join a growing digital product team.

You'll join the Digdat product team as a Junior Product Owner, working across our Utilities and Communications product streams. Supported by an experienced Product Owner, you'll help shape, prioritise and deliver product features that make a real difference for our customers and users. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their product career who is curious, tech-savvy and eager to learn.

Working closely with developers, testers, designers, spatial specialists and business stakeholders, you'll help turn ideas, requirements and customer needs into clear, deliverable product improvements. You'll support product discovery, backlog management, user story creation, testing, release readiness and continuous improvement across Digdat's product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of Digdat's products, user journeys, customer needs and technical landscape.

Work across the Utilities and Communications product streams to support product discovery, delivery and continuous improvement.

Gather, organise and clarify requirements from internal and external stakeholders.

Support the Product Owner with backlog management, refinement, prioritisation and sprint planning.

Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting product documentation.

Help organise user story mapping, discovery and requirement workshops.

Work with developers, testers, UX/UI designers and spatial specialists to ensure requirements are clearly understood.

Support testing, user acceptance testing, defect triage and release readiness.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives.

Communicate progress, questions and decisions clearly with internal teams and stakeholders.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is curious, organised and confident working with both technical and non-technical colleagues. You'll be comfortable asking questions, listening carefully, translating requirements into clear outputs and helping teams stay focused on customer value.

You'll bring:

Experience in, or exposure to, a product, business analysis, project delivery or software environment.

An interest in digital products, technology and user-centred design.

The ability to write or support the creation of user stories, requirements or acceptance criteria.

Strong communication skills, with the ability translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for different audiences

The ability to triage and prioritise work effectively when managing multiple options or competing demands.

Good organisation, time management and attention to detail.

Analytical thinking and a practical approach to problem solving.

Awareness of Agile ways of working.

A willingness to learn, ask questions and grow into broader product ownership responsibilities.

It would also be helpful if you have:

Experience using Jira or a similar backlog or work management tool.

Experience in utilities, mapping, GIS, asset data, communications or customer service platforms.

Experience working with developers, testers, designers or technical delivery teams.

A willingness to travel occasionally for short periods where required.

What you'll learn

How product ownership works in a live digital product environment.

How to turn customer needs, business requirements and technical inputs into deliverable product improvements.

How Agile delivery, backlog management, testing and release planning work in practice.

How Digdat supports utilities, asset owners, councils and communications customers through digital mapping, data and customer-facing services.

As a valued employee, you'll be entitled to:

Personal private healthcare.

25 days' annual leave, rising with length of service.

Flexible working.
