The opportunity

If you have strong customer service or front-of-house experience and enjoy being at the centre of a busy environment, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role making sure students, staff and visitors receive a warm, professional welcome at UAL’s Lime Grove site.

This is much more than a traditional reception role. You will be a highly visible and trusted member of the team, working at the centre of a busy school community and helping everything run smoothly day to day.

You’ll answer questions, provide information and guidance, manage the shared reception inbox, maintain records and help colleagues and visitors find the right person or service when they need more specialist support.

At times, you’ll act as Duty Manager, coordinating staff, security, caterers and contractors, responding to issues as they arise and helping ensure events at Lime Grove are delivered safely and successfully. This means there will be opportunities to take real ownership, make decisions and develop your operational experience.

Your profile

You’ll enjoy working with people and thrive in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly. Friendly, confident and professional, you’ll be comfortable dealing with a wide range of enquiries and able to communicate clearly with students, colleagues, visitors and external partners.

You’ll bring experience of working in a customer-facing environment, along with good organisational skills and basic Microsoft Office knowledge. Experience within a school or educational setting is important, together with an understanding of safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality and data protection responsibilities.

You’ll be someone who can stay calm under pressure, organise your workload effectively and use your initiative to solve everyday problems. You’ll also enjoy working as part of a wider team and be willing to support colleagues wherever needed.

We’re also happy to support you with relevant training, including first aid, personal licence requirements and InfoSmart.
