About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Services Assistant to join us!
This is a full-time, permanent role within the Parking & Enforcement Team, based in Maidenhead with a salary of £25,706 - 27,306 per annum. The role is primarily office-based during training, with hybrid working available thereafter subject to operational requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Parking & Enforcement Team and develop specialist knowledge across a wide range of parking and enforcement services.
The role
As a Support Services Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and operational support across a variety of parking and enforcement functions. Reporting to the Parking Team Leader, you will help ensure services are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with legislation, regulations and council procedures.
This varied role offers the opportunity to gain experience across permit administration, Penalty Charge Notice processing, financial administration, customer enquiries and performance reporting. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to learn, develop new skills and build a career within local government.
Your role will involve:
Processing parking permits, Blue Badges, parking suspensions, dispensations and other parking-related applications.
Supporting the administration of Penalty Charge Notices, customer enquiries and correspondence.
Assisting with income reconciliation, invoicing, purchase orders and other financial administration activities.
Producing reports, statistics and performance information to support service delivery and decision-making.
Working closely with residents, councillors, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders to provide an excellent customer experience.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
You will ideally have:
Experience working in an administrative or customer-focused environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
A willingness to learn new systems, develop specialist knowledge and support service improvements.
A positive and flexible approach, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Previous experience of parking administration, Penalty Charge Notice processing, Blue Badge administration or financial systems would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided.
