About the role
Job summary
SWB are currently looking for a Sterile Services Assistant to join our team. The post is advertised as full time on a permanent basis. The post holder will be required to be flexible with shift patterns as requested by management.
Full time and part time shifts available. Within the role you would be responsible for the receipt and distribution of Sterile Surgical Instrumentation and the collection and dispatch of used/soiled Surgical Instrumentation to and from all areas of Trust.
To be responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation movement is recorded using specialist computer database software and scanning equipment. To manually handle incoming and outgoing goods as required. To ensure that a complete, efficient and auditable stock control system is maintained.
Main duties of the job Delivery of clean sterile trays to Theatre areas. Collection of dirty sterile trays for return to outsourced provider. Booking in of equipment to ensure effective tray management.
Record and manage missing trays and discrepancies. Checking of incoming deliveries to ensure compliance. Close working with Theatre areas to ensure appropriate stock management.

Essential GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English Experience Essential Storekeeper/clerk experience Experience of using computers including Microsoft Word and Excel Proven experience of a working environment that requires attention to detail and accuracy Data entry skills Ability to compare data from different sources and make decisions on this data.
