About the role
Are you interested in a career in environmental regulation and want to take your first step?
We are looking for a motivated Student Scientific Officer to support our Scientific Team in delivering environmental protection, contaminated land, air quality and environmental permitting functions.
What You'll Do
You will have the opportunity to develop practical experience in:
Air quality monitoring and assessment.
Contaminated land investigation and regulation.
Environmental permitting and compliance.
Planning consultation processes.
Environmental data analysis and interpretation.
Regulatory investigations and enforcement.
Professional report writing and evidence gathering.
About You
You will be studying towards, or have recently completed, a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geography, Chemistry, Environmental Health or a related discipline. You will have strong communication skills, an interest in environmental regulation, and a willingness to learn.
Additional Information
The role combines office and field-based work, with approximately 30% of time spent on site visits and monitoring activities. Duties may involve walking over uneven ground, climbing stairs or ladders, replacing monitoring equipment and carrying light inspection equipment.
