Job summary
Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2, 15 Month Apprenticeship - Fixed Term We are looking for an Inventory Management Apprentice to join our team and support the efficient delivery of an effective and timely Inventory Management service towards wards and departments.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience within Inventory Management, working alongside Ward and departmental staff and gaining valuable experience in a healthcare environment.
Interview Date: 2nd September 2026 Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and replenishing consumable stock across designated wards and departments, ensuring products are available in the right quantities and at the right time.
Duties will include ordering stock in line with agreed schedules and re-order levels, processing non-stock requisitions, checking stock lists and resolving discrepancies.
You will monitor product usage, review and agree re-order levels with Ward/Department Managers and budget holders, and produce reports to support effective stock management.
You will also work closely with the Category Management Team to identify suitable new products and provide advice to customers on value for money, including researching alternative products and liaising with suppliers.
The role involves replenishing departmental stockrooms, moving and safely storing roll cages, rotating stock, maintaining tidy storage areas and identifying surplus stock for appropriate disposal. You will also assist with deliveries, resolve invoice queries and attend relevant meetings.
You will need to respond quickly to changing requirements and work effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers. The ability to communicate clearly and explain processes to colleagues and new starters is essential.
