Job description

Solihull College & University Centre is looking to recruit a highly organised and proactive Faculty Office Coordinator to coordinate administrative support across a range of curriculum areas.
This is a varied and busy role, working as part of the Faculty Office team and providing support to Heads of School, Assistant Principals, teaching staff, students and other internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth and effective running of faculty administration, while providing a high-quality and responsive service.
Key responsibilities will include coordinating and supporting the work of Faculty Office staff, managing diary and administrative requirements, organising cover where needed, supporting faculty inbox arrangements, issuing correspondence, taking minutes, coordinating references, supporting educational visits processes, assisting with events such as progress evenings and awards ceremonies, and responding to a wide range of queries from staff, students and external contacts, as well as providing administrative support to a dedicated Head of School.
The role will also include responsibility for agreed areas of faculty administration, including sickness returns, part-time teaching contracts, travel and pay claims, purchasing, student refunds, student references and part-time course administration. The post holder will also support staff training on key administrative processes and systems, including Evolve.
We are looking for someone with good general education, including Level 2 qualifications in English and maths, and experience of working in a busy office environment. You should have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively while working under pressure. Experience of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, is essential, along with excellent customer service skills and a confident and professional telephone manner.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can work effectively with managers and colleagues across the College. The ability to lead and support a team, solve problems, meet deadlines and maintain a flexible approach will be important. Supervisory experience, experience of administrative systems within Further Education and experience of Microsoft Teams would be desirable.
The College is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse community and welcomes applications from individuals across all sectors. We aim to reflect the diversity of our student population in our staff profile, ensuring that we provide the best possible experience and environment for our learners. Our goal is to continue to develop a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive workplace where all staff can thrive.
For the next stage in the process, you will be required to attend the College’s premises, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Solihull College & University Centre is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students and expects all staff to engage fully with this commitment.
