Job summary
We are recruiting for a full time Apprenticeship in Admin and Clerical alongside SBC training in Shrewsbury to undertake a Business Administration Level 3 for 18 months. At the end of 18 months there will be an end point assessment.
The role is to assist in providing a comprehensive and professional audit typing service to clinical staff in the Trust, in conjunction with other secretaries working within the Team. The role will include audio typing and liaising as necessary with other staff in the Team.
Full time hours availableMonday to Friday working days only. 6 hours per week will be protected for course work and there will be 1:1 session with a mentor.
Apprentice Pay Rates: Aged under 19 - OR aged 19 and over AND in the first year of apprenticeship £8 per hour Aged over 19 and have completed first year of apprenticeship Aged 19-20 £10.85 per hour Aged 21 and over £12.71 per hour Under current Home Office Immigration Rules, this role does not meet the UK Visas and Immigration criteria, and the position is not therefore eligible for skilled worker sponsorship.

Main duties of the job Typing of DEXA reports, clinic letters to patients and other healthcare professionals with accuracy and attention to detail. Processing these letters to the patients and healthcare professionals.
Checking outcomes of the clinic attendance. Answering phone. Scanning into patient's electronic patient record.
Any other tasks deemed necessary as directed by the Senior Medical Secretary or admin team.

To type DEXA reports, clinic notes and correspondence of varied medical terminology, accurately through audio typing distributing as necessary to the relevant healthcare professions. This work involves a significant use of word processing and the Trusts computer systems, Careflow EPR and Word Microsoft Office and digital dictation system.
Process incoming mail and distribute as necessary on a daily basis. To scan documents into the correct section of the patients EPR record, performing a quality assurance check for each scanned document. To regularly check Big Hand for urgent dictation.
Also checking for missing dictations and alerting the Medical Secretary. Ensure all clinical letters are completed and dispatched, where possible, within the10-day standard as directed by the Trust liaising with medical staff to encourage dictation and signing of letters in a timely fashion.
Complete Inter Provider Transfer forms accurately to effectively coordinate patients pathway with other hospitals. Requesting external case notes and x-rays via IEP. The use of photocopying or emailing documents as required.
Ensure that all entries and information on the hospital computer systems such as Careflow EPR are accurate and complete. To liaise with the Medical Secretary and when directed to answer incoming telephone calls as well as carrying out external telephone calls.
The ability to deal with frequent interruptions whilst maintaining levels of concentration.
