About the role
Job summary
To provide an efficient receptionist service to all visitors attending the, Solihull Hospital, Radiology department and maintain a sensitive friendly approach. Working on the reception desk, meeting and greeting staff and visitors; dealing with general enquiries, answering the telephone and carrying out administrative duties.
Recruiting for the following positions: 1 x Full-Time Post - 37.5 hours per week: Flexible working pattern is required, including evenings and weekends. Hours will be worked across 5 days out of 7, in line with service requirements. 1 x Part-Time Post - 19 hours per week: Working pattern of 3 days out of 7.
Permanent Saturday and Sunday working is required.
Weekend shifts will be: 08:00 - 14:00 or 14:00 - 20:00 The remaining hours will be worked on a weekday, subject to service needs. Please note that all working patterns are subject to the needs of the service and may require flexibility.
Main duties of the job Communication *Welcome staff and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, dealing with enquiries as appropriate. *Provide excellent telephone skills, accurately record telephone messages and other enquiries and refer as appropriate. *Provide effective communication and problem solving both face to face and via telephone *Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff and visitors when communicating by telephone or face to face, including dealing with a difficult situation, e.g. aggressive or demanding behaviour; escalating conflict situations where necessary. *Maintain confidentiality at all times adhering to Caldicott Guidelines and Data Protection Act *Attend admin team / departmental meetings on a regular basis.
Contribute to building effective teamwork in exchanging views, ideas and communicating effectively. *Signpost visitors appropriately to relevant departments Analytical and Judgemental Skills / Freedom to Act *Deal with day-to-day enquiries such as appointments, room bookings meetings, hospitality, signing in to the building. *Ability to make decisions and take actions within the team relating to routine enquiries, whilst receiving support and supervision. *Receive incoming post and take action as required. *Ability to recognise situations that should be referred onto the Supervisor / Line Manager and take prompt and appropriate action.

Essential * Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4 Experience Essential * Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience * Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg.
Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook) * Experience of using IT systems * Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment * Knowledge of administrative systems/ office procedures acquired through on the job training.
