Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families? We are excited to offer a unique opportunity within Dorset Community CAMHS, with newly created roles available in Weymouth, Dorchester, Blandford, Poole and Bournemouth.

Please note, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential. CYPMH Dorset is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and resilient Young Person and Family Outreach Worker to join our developing service.

You will support children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, helping them remain engaged with services, reduce the risk of deterioration and achieve positive outcomes in their communities.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide community-based outreach support to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

You will work closely with families, carers, education, social care and partner agencies to deliver person-centred, strengths-based interventions that promote recovery, resilience and wellbeing. This role is largely community focused, supporting young people in their homes, schools and local communities across Dorset.

Within your Supporting Information, please indicate your preferred work base location within Dorset. This can be discussed at interview. The assessment day will be held Tuesday 8th September 2026, availability all day is necessary.

You will: Support children and young people receiving CYPMH interventions to remain engaged in treatment and achieve identified goals. Deliver outreach support within homes, schools and community settings. Assist registered professionals in delivering therapeutic and behavioural interventions.

Work collaboratively with families, carers and partner agencies including education and social care services. Contribute to assessments, care planning, risk management and review processes. Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children and young people remains central to all aspects of practice.

Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to positive service development. Please note visa sponsorship for this role is unfortunately not available. Ensure you hold valid right to work in the UK and will not require sponsorship if successful.

Person Specification

requirements

Essential Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively. Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.

A level of fitness and ability to participate and complete PMVA, Breakaway training and Manual Handling (practice and theory). Holds a full UK driving Liscence.
