The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.
We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Research and Development Function within the Scientific Research and Innovation group.
The post holder’s duties may vary with the needs of Manufacturing, and the strategic objectives of the SR&I group, but the main responsibilities will include ensuring effective & efficient operation of precision Manufacturing equipment including change overs, equipment set-up, breakdowns & repairs, re-validation/qualification of equipment, organising & maintaining maintenance & calibration schedules.
The successful candidate will:
- Have strong experience maintaining and troubleshooting precision manufacturing equipment.
- Be able to coordinate and supervise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities for specialist production equipment.
- Be able to prioritise workload effectively and develop practical solutions to minimise downtime and maintain safe operations.
- Have a solid understanding of clean manufacturing environments and the importance of equipment reliability and product quality.
- Be willing and able to provide 24/7 on-call support as part of a rota and make sound technical decisions independently during out-of-hours incidents.
- Have experience with critical systems such as freeze dryers, cold rooms, and associated process equipment.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to support operational continuity.
