About the role
At Home Farm we are looking for a reliable and motivated Domestic Assistant to join our care home team.
This is a vital role ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will contribute directly to maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control.
- Cleaning all areas of the care home including bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms and equipment
- Carrying out cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and infection control procedures
- Safe handling and storage of cleaning materials (COSHH compliant)
- Supporting laundry duties including washing, drying and distributing clothing and linen
- Assisting with basic catering tasks where required (e.g. drinks, meal support)
- Ensuring safe disposal of waste, including clinical waste
- Reporting faults, maintenance issues or concerns to the Care Home Manager
- Communicating appropriately with residents and relatives and reporting any concerns
