We Are Recruiting: Specialist Childcare Worker (Waking Nights)
Location: St Helens, Merseyside
Salary: £27,734.56–£29,547.08 per annum, pro rata
About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and resilient Specialist Childcare Workers to support children and young people at Marydale Secure Unit. You will ensure their safety, dignity, and wellbeing during the night, helping them build positive futures through consistent care and support.
Our core purpose is to protect young people in crisis and help them build a positive, stable future. You will support their education, health, independence, and confidence. No two nights are the same, and each young person brings unique strengths and challenges—your compassion, resilience, and professionalism will make a meaningful difference every day.
Experience & Skills of a Specialist Childcare Worker:
Commitment to our values: Integrity, Ambition, Courage, Compassion, Optimism, Respect & Dignity
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
Experience supporting vulnerable and traumatised young people.
Strong understanding of child development and trauma
Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
Resilient, caring, and proactive approach
Hours
Full-time: 38 hours
Part-time: 19 hours
